The sunflowers that bloom in the fields all around Sayo make the place look like a golden carpet has been laid over the world. The Sunflower Festival held each year at Nanko Sports Park is always popular with people from Sayo and elsewhere.
At the Nanko Sunflower Hall, they produce sunflower oil made from sunflowers grown without any pesticides. This is a perennially popular product that does not use any additives at all. In addition, they also develop and sell salad dressing, body soap, and other products made from sunflower oil. The sunflower products are also sold at direct sales outlets and road stations.
